Evan has recently begun focusing more on pursuing music composition, having studied previously with Richard Covey and James Rolfe, and he is currently studying with Larysa Kuzmenko at the University of Toronto.
Here's what Evan had to say about his piece:
“'I Shall Not Forget' is a choral setting of White Pansies by Canadian poet Archibald Lampman (1862-1899). The poem was written in 1894 in response to the death of Lampman’s young infant son, Arnold. The beautiful imagery and profound sadness and the text are reminder to never take any moment for granted, and had a deep impact on me that I felt inspired to illustrate musically. I’m very grateful to have had the opportunity to work with the wonderful voices of That Choir during the development of this piece - my first composition for mixed choir."
